I am very excited to announce that UCF’s Alpha Pi Mu Student Chapter won second place nationally in the 2013 outstanding student chapter award competition. Alpha Pi Mu is the Industrial Engineering Honor Society. The competition is based on the chapter’s activities in three categories. (1) Chapter and University Activities, (2) Betterment of the Field of Industrial Engineering, and (3) Betterment of the National Society. To get a better understanding of all the many chapter activities and events, please see UCF’s APM Outstanding Chapter Report 2013.
This award is a great way to showcase the group’s achievements and much credit is due to the 2012-2013 Alpha Pi Mu Officers for organizing so many great events. The officers (shown below) are Faculty Adviser: Jen Pazour, Vice President: Alex Pratt, President: Dunia Villaverde, Secretary: Megan Wetzel, and Treasurer: Josh Patzner. In addition, Dr. Bill Thompson deserves a lot of credit for reestablishing this organization and for providing endless support to ensure that the organization runs smoothly.
As the faculty adviser, I want to say thank you to all Alpha Pi Mu members, but especially the officers, for your dedicated and hard work to Alpha Pi Mu, for organizing so many great events, and for being such a great group of leaders to work with.
